The Dorchester Hotel have a long tradition of rewarding the loyalty of it’s employees by means of an annual “Long Services Awards” celebration, where employees who have reached certain milestones are given an award, personal thank you from the GM, and a gift. Cameo were commissioned to photograph this year’s long service awards.
The event begins with red carpet treatment for every single employee, with the management team welcoming them to the occasion with a hearty handshake. The photographer actually adds to the atmosphere by remaining clearly visible and firing away with flash photography as the guests begin filtering through the entrance with delighted expressions on their faces.
Next came the awards themselves, where the General Manager Philip Wisebloom called the award winners to the stage one by one to shake their hands, thank them for their loyal service and present them with a gift along with the award itself. Positioning is key at any awards ceremony, to ensure you’ve captured the right moment at an angle where facial expressions are clearly visible. This went very smoothly, and we organised a series of group photographs to show the winners all together; our favourite being one where they are asked to shout, wave their hands, kick out their feet etc… which makes for a great fun shot.
As always we turned around the photos quickly and supplied all the edited high resolution images the very next day. We look forward to attending the next Long service awards at the Dorchester.
